Instructions for using the +18 °C eutectic plate

The above product contains eutectic liquids

In winter:
Prior to use in winter, the +18 °C eutectic plate should be stored at a temperature of >+26 °C for at least 24 hours, or warmed in an oven at >+30 °C for approx. 15 hours.

Once the plate has thawed out completely (shake it to check the entire contents have reverted to liquid form!), place it inside the insulated container, preferably towards the bottom (on the base or at the side). Do not wrap the eutectic plates in a cover! Do not subject +18 °C eutectic plates to high temperatures (+50 °C)!

HOW THEY WORK: As the external temperature drops, the liquid inside the plate absorbs surplus cold and thus stabilises the temperature, keeping it constant between +15 °C and +25 °C*.

*The length of time and actual temperature range will depend on factors including the ambient temperature, the type of insulated container, and the number of eutectic plates in use.

The eutectic plates must be frozen before each use. Place them in a freezer, preferably in a horizontal position. Never stack eutectic plates in the freezer. (See recommended freezer temperatures on the next page.)

Frozen eutectic plates should always be placed towards the top of your insulated container. Eutectic plates are an ideal source of cold in your insulated containers and will safeguard your cold chain deliveries. Do not subject eutectic plates to extreme temperatures above +50 °C or below -45 °C.

In their frozen state, eutectic plates are sensitive to impact.

Instructions for using the -21 °C and -3 °C eutectic plates

GN1/1, GN1/3, GN1/4 and GN1/9 contain eutectic liquids

In summer:
Prior to use in summer, the +18 °C eutectic plate should be stored for at least 24 hours in a refrigerator, at a temperature of +8 °C. Once the content has solidified (shake the plate to check the entire content has hardened!), leave the plate at room temperature for ten minutes before placing it inside the insulated container. Preferably, the plate should be positioned towards the top of the container (top or side). Do not wrap eutectic plates in a cover! Do not subject +18 °C eutectic plates to high temperatures (+50 °C)!

HOW THEY WORK: As the external temperature rises, the solidified content of the plate liquefies as it absorbs the excess heat, and thus keeps the temperature constant between +15 °C and +25 °C*.

*The length of time and actual temperature range will depend on factors including the ambient temperature, the type of insulated container used, and the number of eutectic plates in use.
